TLDR i did a pretty and need money, please fill this out if you wanna buy my pretty https://forms.gle/z1HUgW3Tr6oL5XnXA
Hello fedi. How are you doing? Hope it's going well. I know we don't talk much, but i need some help. For the first time in a bunch of years I can't afford paying to get to the annual chaos communication congress, basically the one thing I'm looking forward to every year, the single most important event during each rotation around the sun. and while people have offered to help I dislike having to take money from other people.
So instead I'd like to sell you something!
A few months ago i designed these chaos communication coven badges for camp in the form of a witch hat wearing fairydust for the other coven members and myself! sadly customs made it impossible to get to the parts we ordered and we had to have them reshipped ages later, so i could put together the prototypes, spot any mistakes and make a few more adjustments to get them just right 👌
i'm considering to produce a batch for congress if enough people come together to buy some, but we've only got about a week!
in this time i need to know how many people would want one and how much you would be willing to pay for one, so we gotta be quick!
pleae fill out this survey i created if you're interested in one
The badge itself is fairly simple:
it's shaped like the CCCs fairydust, has a neat lil' witches hat on and a tail with no soldermask and very little colour so RGB LEDs can shine through it and give it a nyan tail!
the technical side isn't too complicated:
1x ATSAMD21G18A, the same chip used on many adafruit boards
3x WS2812D, everyones (second) favourite addressable RGB LED in classical LED form0
1x USB-C and micro USB, because let's be real, you __need__ both
1x AP2112K-3.3TRG1, a power regulator to make sure you don't fry the MCU
1x MAX1555EZK+T, a battery charge controller so you can recharge the batteries you use for your badge directly via USB! (this chip might change because it seems to be sold out in many places right now)
1x button, gotta press reset somehow
2x 10uF capacitor, to get rid of that t h i c c noise
2x 1uF capacitor, to get rid of that t h i n noise
1x SAO connector v1.69, so you can put your own shitty addons on your badge!
around the MCU there's a bunch of pads that connect to its pins so you can use it to interface with your own stuff, either to extend the badge or to use it as a devboard like you would with any arduino board
it's got
5 analog pins
10 digital pins
SWD/SWC for programming (can also be used as in/outputs)
ground
3.3v
reset
it comes pre-flashed with the UF2 bootloader and a custom build of micropython that's been customized for this board and will get a pull request in the official repo soon™
